Owner Profile – Owner, Randy Begger, has been working with technology since the days of the Apple IIe. Randy spent 6 years in the US Navy doing advanced electronics on submarines as a radioman. His military time taught many valuable lessons on hard work and dedication to a team. At the end of his 6 years he left the service with a Navy Achievement Metal for stepping into a role of leadership on the USS Narwhal. Following military life, he spent 18 years working at a technology service company learning everything from fiber optics to Windows server administration. The last 10 years was spent managing the western Montana technical teams. After a short time learning the consulting business, Randy successful ran his own business in Bozeman, Mt. Running a business teaches so many accounting and business skills that help with introducing technology into a business to stream line the process. One of his customers saw these skills and requested that he lead the technology side of their company. He took on the challenge of heading Bridger Steel's technology department. Some of the projects he spearheaded was move from a paper based sale process to an automated order entry system with Bendex metal software, replacing the multiple accounting systems into a single Netsuite ERP system and upgrading many technology systems from IP phones to a controller based wireless platform. After returning to Billings, Mt, Randy has opened Datus to provide his many years of experience to other businesses.
